The Creative Society is an arts employment charity that helps young people into jobs in the creative and cultural industries.
The Creative Society (formerly New Deal of the Mind) was formed in 2009 with a mission to to get young unemployed people into jobs in the creative industries. Its work to date has included successfully lobbying for the return of the Enterprise Allowance Scheme, and supporting 800 unemployed 16-24 year olds into work placements in the creative industries as part of the government’s Future Jobs Fund. The evaluation of this programme found that 71% of participants moved into employment, education or training at the end of their placement, and that the proportion of participants claiming benefits post-placement remained substantially lower than the Future Jobs Fund average. The Creative Society currently offers a number of similar creative placement opportunities.
The Creative Society has recently broadened its mission to build and support the creative economy.
