Talent Bank is a recruitment and training hub for the energy and utilities sector, developed in collaboration with employers and other stakeholders.
Delivered by the Energy and Utility Skills sector skills council, Talent Bank will provide a responsive range of flexible, regionally-focused services to match the recruitment and training needs of both large and small companies. Specific activities include pooling demand for training, directly employing apprentices on behalf of companies, and sourcing and managing training provision for employers.
The impetus behind Talent Bank is an ageing workforce and significant capital expenditure programmes, in particular in new technologies and the gas, power, waste management and water industries. This means that the energy and utilities sector will need to recruit and train over 30,000 staff over the next five years, which represents a significant increase in both recruitment and training activity.
