Fusion21 is a social enterprise that promotes public procurement as a means to create training opportunities and sustainable jobs for local people.
Operating nationally, Fusion21 works on sustainable and socially responsible procurement across numerous organisations, with a particular focus on social housing providers. As well as providing registered social landlords and the wider public sector with procurement frameworks, Fusion21 delivers a range of training and employment initiatives that meet the needs of its members and local communities. These include its Employer Pool, which matches jobs to local unemployed people by supporting them throughout their placement and acting as the host employer.
Since 2002, Fusion21 has gained national recognition for its collaborative approach; delivering around £45 million of savings through the procurement process, creating over 1,000 permanent jobs, and generating an estimated financial benefit in excess of £30 million through regular paid work and reductions in benefit claims.
